Newborn Family Photoshoot at Home
Introducing baby Paige
A family photoshoot at home, especially with a newborn, definitely has its advantages.
There was a lot of excitement around this newborn photoshoot, especially as an adorable little outfit was waiting to be shown off.
By 8am, the Mosterts were dressed and ready for their family photoshoot. I find this important to mention as I imagine that a family with 2 kids (one being a brand new baby and the other a very busy toddler) can’t be particularly easy to get up, fed, dressed and photo-ready that early on a Saturday. For this photoshoot, we would be introducing the newest and smallest member of the family to the world. An advantage of having a newborn shoot at home, is that we could easily setup a studio environment right on the dining room table. Once the desired “set” was built, it was time to shoot. The morning sunlight filled the room with a lovely soft glow that allowed me to make the most of the ambient light, rather than having to use a flash. Baby Paige was a super star- she posed patiently while I snapped away (one needs to “snap away” when it comes to babies as they change expressions so quickly!). We then moved outside for the family portraits. At this point, Hayden was already playing in the garden and anticipating our arrival. There was still a lot of shady spots around, so we were able to move from one natural backdrop to the next. The cooler outside temperature was a welcomed relief. Together, we captured some beautiful and natural family moments that I know will be cherished for years to come.
